Rebecca’s move to the Pacific Northwest from the UK brought a change in lifestyle, a new environment and new-found inspiration. The rugged landscapes and stunning vistas of the Coastal Mountains and Shoreline have become the focus of her art work.
During her earlier years, studying Art at Loughborough University, composition was always a keen interest and strength in her visual communication, and she found a great sense of fulfilment in a hands-on approach. Designing new layouts in her sketchbook, shifting and placing various layers across a blank canvas and combining them with the elements in nature. Building fractal patterns and emotive imagery, merging them with geometric shapes and translating them to raw prints. Art became Rebecca’s therapy, a place to escape, play and challenge herself. She wanted to create artwork that reflected her passion for all of this.
